Noble Park Special Developmental School offers an Early Education Program specifically designed for pre-school children with a significant developmental delay. The program caters for children aged between 2 years 8 months and 4 years 8 months as at 1st January of the year of entry.

The program offers:
  • A fun, innovative and motivating program run by professional staff who have experience working with children with additional needs.
  • A developmental play focus with ongoing assessment.
  • Formal and informal reporting to parents.
  • An emphasis on developing communication skills. Use of varied communication methods to promote language e.g. Makaton signing, Picture Exchange Communication system.
  • Access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy where appropriate.
  • Toilet training program.
  • Computer Education.
  • A sensory program.
  • Music and movement.
  • Independent living skills.
  • Support with transition to school.

Children can also attend regular kindergarten or childcare programs. The school promotes inclusion of the children in their local services and supports the families in choosing an appropriate school age program.

  2. Provide any relevant information/assessments
  3. Eligibility for enrolment will also require a recommendation of a guidance officer and endorsement by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. This will be organised through the school.
